Obituary of Alberto C. Aiello

Albert Carmine Aiello passed away on August 24, 2016, at the age of 83, just one week before his birthday. Albert was born August 30, 1932 in Piane Crati, Italy to Eugenio and Antionetta Aiello. He began his career as a brick mason at the early age of 10. Albert was an avid soccer player while in Italy. In 1954, he married his wife of 61 years, Ersilia Filice. In 1956, they traveled from Italy to Canada where their first son, Eugene was born. In 1961, the family moved from Canada to Hollister and their second son, Anthony was born. In 1969, Albert and Ersilia had twin girls, Stephanie and Paula. From 1970 to 1972, Albert built a castle in Watsonville, California. In 1972 he established his own company, “Albert C. Aiello Masonry”. Albert was very well known for his stone work. He was a true artist and masonry work was his passion. Albert had hobbies that included cooking, and making his signature pasta sauce, “that could not be topped” by anyone. Albert is survived by his wife, Ersilia Filice Aiello, son Anthony Aiello, twin girls Stephanie (Joe) Grammatico and Paula (Ron) Aiello-Locicero; brothers Tony Aiello and Frank Aiello; grandchildren: Dominic, Mark ,Noah and Cooper Aiello and Joseph, Gianna and Gino Grammatico. He was preceded in death by his son Eugene Aiello; brother Aldo and his sister Maria. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on September 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Inurnment will be private. A reception will follow at Paines Restaurant. Donations are preferred to Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility, Southside.
