Obituary of Dorothy M. Bowden

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dorothy May “Dee Dee” Bowden peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2018 after a brief illness. Dee Dee was born on January 12, 1931 to Martin and Carmen Nunes Valdez in Tres Pinos, California. She attended elementary school in Tres Pinos and high school in Hollister. She often told stories of the fun times they all had growing up in Tres Pinos. They all worked very hard, but found time to enjoy life.

Dee Dee was said to be a special child of God when she was born and lived her life as everyone’s special angel. She was so loving and caring and would give anything or everything she had to anyone in need. Her great accomplishment in life was being an exemplary daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and mostly, a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her family was her world.

Dee Dee was predeceased by two precious children: son Charlie Presser and daughter Deborah Presser; her parents; siblings: Martin Valdez, Jim Valdez, Freddie and Eugene Valdez, and sister Babe Littlejohn; Sister-in-law Laverne Detricle; and brothers-in-law Jim Littlejohn, Jim Stephens Sr. and Frank Garcia.

She is survived by her son, Don Presser and his wife Sue of Visalia, Ca.; daughter-in-law Joyce Presser of Hollister; grandchildren: Mindy Presser-Minor (Alex) and Matthew Presser (Tami) of Hollister; Martin Presser (Marissa) of San Diego and Katelyn Presser of Visalia; 3 great-grandchildren: AJ and Arielle Minor and Rosie Presser of Hollister; Siblings Edward Valdez (Leona), Rose Stephens, and Pauline Puckett of Hollister. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her very special care giver, Margaret Diaz.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 16th at 12:00 p.m.

Donations are preferred to Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility - Patient Activity Fund c/o the mortuary.
