Obituary of Evelia Nunez De Ramos

Please share a memory of Evelia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Evelia Núñez de Ramos *February 16, 1940 - †September 1, 2023 Evelia was born in Jalisco, México. She was the daughter of Guadalupe Núñez and Agraciana Meza. She was the sister of José, †Carlos, Luis, †Elena, María Concepción, and Alicia. She is survived by her children: José Guadalupe, Alioncio, Silvia, Imelda, Carlos, Ramiro, Óscar, and Leticia. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Evelia loved her family above all else and dedicated every moment of her life to give them the best she could, encouraging and supporting them in their time of need and joy. She also loved cooking, caring for her garden, and taking trips to the casinos. Although she never learned to drive, she was determined to get where she needed to and always found a way to achieve the goals she set for herself. She was a humble woman who tended to her farm, made tortillas, and sewed, washed, and ironed clothes by hand in order to make a living before coming to the United States. She was such an industrious woman that she began working immediately the day after she immigrated in 1968 and did not stop until 2015. She worked many agricultural jobs and was a tomato sorter at Tri Valley Growers and San Benito Foods. Likewise, she was known for not missing a day of work and helping others find employment for themselves. She provided for her family and made every meal from scratch- including her famous flour tortillas. Despite facing her own difficulties, Evelia's generosity extended beyond her home. She was known for housing and feeding many in their time of need. She was an adoptive mother and grandmother to many and always donated what little extra she had to those less fortunate. Evelia Núñez de Ramos led an exemplary life full of love and forgiveness. She has now finished her journey in this world to rest peacefully. May she rejoice in the house of the Lord and her loved ones who have gone before her. Evelia will be greatly missed but always remembered.
