Obituary of Ernest Perreira

Ernest "Ernie" Perreira, 94, of Pahoa, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023, in Hollister, CA. He was the oldest of 7 siblings born to Manuel and Emelia Perreira. Ernie was born on October 3, 1928, in Pahoa, Hawaii. He was a beloved husband, brother, and friend, known for his kind heart and his sense of humor. Ernie is survived by his wife, Connie and his brothers and sisters, Edward Perreira, Gilbert Perreira (Joanie), Adeline Chandler, and Caroline Roberson, sister in law Betty Perreira and brother in law Richard Wheeler. And son Gary Perreira (Chris), granddaughters, Crystal Perreira and Ashley (Perreira) Ramirez husband Michael, great granddaughters Rilynn and Emberlee Ramirez. Along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and long time friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Elias Perreira, Walter Perreira, and sister Lorraine Wheeler. Ernie dedicated over 45 years of his life to Ferry Morse Seed, retiring on September 1, 1998. As Production Supervisor, he traveled the world. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee, leaving a lasting impact on the company and the people he did business with. In his free time, Ernie enjoyed visiting his friends, always ready to offer encouragement over a cup of coffee and share a good laugh. His warm presence and genuine care brightened the lives of those around him. A visitation will be held on August 9th between 3pm - 7pm at Grunnagle’s. On August 10th at 11am a rosary and mass will be held at San Juan Bautista Mission to honor Ernie's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to charitable organizations of your choice in Ernie's memory. Ernie will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace
