Obituary of Raymond Amaya Jr.

Mr. Raymond Amaya Jr (Ramon/Ray) Son of Ramon and Consuelo Amaya was born August 7th, 1947, in Hollister California and at age of 75 went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on February 1, 2023. Raymond Amaya was a loving Husband, Father, Brother and Friend. He attended the Hollister public schools and graduated from Hollister high school in 1966. After High School he joined the Army and served for 3 years and did 2 tours of duty in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star for bravery and a Purple Heart for being wounded. After his honorable discharge, He met the love of his life Mary Alice Quintero. They were married on September 5, 1971 in San Juan Bautista, California and had 5 beautiful children, together and inseparable for 51 years. He worked at PG & E for 11 years before being called in 1984 to Golden, Mississippi as they were called of the Lord into the Missionary work, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While in Mississippi Ray started the business, The Finishing Touch where he did painting and handyman work. He retired in 2012 and closed his business to travel and spend time with his family. Raymond Amaya is survived by his loving wife Mary Alice Amaya, daughter Raelene Amaya of Eagle River Alaska, son Ryan Amaya (wife Cassie, son Ryan Jr and daughter Hannah) of Hollister California, son Nathan Amaya (wife Melanie, son Samuel, daughter Sarah and son Levi) of Fulton Mississippi and son David Amaya (wife Priscilla, daughter Ariel and daughter Analiese) of Ogden Utah. He was proceeded in death by his son Jason Amaya of San Mateo California. Parents: Ramon and Consuelo Amaya, Sisters: Gloria Arballo, Trini Bogart, Tonya Haro, Nellie Amaya. Brother: Manuel Avitia. Survived by Sisters: Cruz Arballo, Lupe Amaya, Candy Amaya, and Brothers: Ray Avitia, Johnny Amaya, and Bobby Amaya. Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Ray enjoyed doing anything and everything he could for anyone. His love for his wife, his family and grandkids were the heartbeat of his life. Colossians 3:23 and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; was what he lived by. Raymond Amaya will be having two services; one in Fulton Mississippi, and one in Hollister California. The family will be celebrating His life in Fulton Mississippi on Saturday February 11th 2023. The service will be held at www.mcneecemorrisfuneralhome.com the Family will have a viewing from 1pm – 2pm followed by the service at 2pm. The family will also be celebrating His life in Hollister California on Saturday February 18th 2023. The service will be held at www.grunnagle.com the Family will have a viewing from 12pm – 1pm followed by the service at 1pm followed by a reception at www.painesrestaurant.com for Family and Friends.
