Gabriel “Biggie” Ponce, 45, of Morgan Hill, California, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at his home in Hollister, surrounded by his loving family.

Outside of work, Gabriel found joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, but his greatest passion was softball. Whether he was coaching, playing, or simply watching a game, he cherished every moment spent on the field and inspired many through his love of the sport. Known affectionately as “Biggie,” Gabriel will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering love for his family and friends, and the laughter he brought to everyone around him. And his famous line, "Trip out on this."

He was preceded in death by his father Jeronimo Ponce.

Gabriel is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette; his beloved daughter, Serenity Skye Ponce; his mother, Maria Ponce; his brothers Carlos (April) Naranjo and Anthony Ponce; his sister, Veronica Ponce; Nephews Carlos (Gladys) and Thomas Naranjo; Ray (Marlene)Shott, JC Magana and Gilbert Banuelos III ; Niece's Alyssa and Mariah Naranjo; Selena Banuelos; Great nieces Caleah and Eliana Naranjo; great nephew Carlos T Naranjo. Sister-in-laws Angelica Torres; Annabelle (Gilbert) Banuelos; As well as many extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Gabriel’s life while sharing memories of the man who meant so much to so many.

Though Gabriel’s time with us was far too short, the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will live on forever. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
