David Alan Horn, also known as Dave, died on April 13th, 2026, at 65 years old, unexpectedly at his home. A Hollister native, Dave was born on June 5, 1960, to Horace Ulmet Horn and Olivia Davila Horn. He attended Sacred Heart Parish School before graduating from San Benito High School in 1978. Dave lived in Hollister, California, until 2023 before moving down the road to Morgan Hill, California.

Everyone who knew Dave knew that he was truly one of a kind. He had a passion for his work at Pacific Gas & Electric like no other. He was extremely proud of the nickname his colleagues bestowed upon him, “Hornzilla”, and even had his hats embroidered to show off this work handle. Many will remember him as the hardest worker they knew. Whether he was riding his Harley-Davidson, singing karaoke to old country music, or cheering on the Raiders, he lived his life with an admirable passion. He had many passions, but above all, his greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by his 6 children, Justin, Jenica, Kayla, Joseph, Abigayle, and Emilie, as well as his 3 grandsons, Noah, Nathan, and Ethan. He made it abundantly clear that everything he ever did was for his family. Dave was a man of deep faith, and he taught each of his children how to live for and follow Jesus Christ. He had the kind of work ethic that could not be simply taught, but was embedded in his character. Dave was dependable, resilient, and humorous. His family and friends will miss him dearly, and every time a Harley-Davidson rides by or old country music plays, they will think of him with loving memories.

A visitation will be held for him on April 24th, 2026, from 10:30 AM - 12 PM at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St, Hollister, CA 95023. A celebration of life will be held on June 6th; time and additional details to follow.
