Ermelinda Gonzalez Rodriguez (Mema), 61, of Hollister California, passed away on March 24,

2026 at UCSF San Francisco.

Ermelinda was born December 31, 1964 to Juana Bueno Gonzalez and Victor Zavala Gonzales,

who both preceded her in death, and was born in Hollister, California where she lived all her

life. Ermelinda worked many jobs throughout her life but the most recent and favored was as a

Yard Supervisor for the Hollister School District at Maze Middle School. She enjoyed spending

time at bingo, the casino, soaking up the sun, sitting with her dogs, and time with her

grandchildren. Ermelinda was a hardworking, family-oriented woman who lived her life with

love. She was known for her big smile, joyful laugh, loving personality, and willingness to help

those she could.

Mema is survived by her doting husband Alejandro; her children, Emilia (Ismael), Victoria

(Ricardo), Jose (Katherine); Grandchildren, Dejah, Vivian, Eneyssa, Victor, Justine, Ebony, Ella,

Emily, and Elysa; siblings, Jose Gonzalez (Anitra), Lupe Hernandez (Candelario) and their

children, her niece’s and nephew’s.

Ermelinda’s memory will live on in the hearts and minds of her family, friends, and the many

young students whose lives she helped shaped.
