Josephine Doty, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in Hollister,

California, surrounded by her loving family.

Josephine was born on August 11, 1940, in Hanford, California, to Arvin and Viola Yocham.

She moved to Hollister in 1943, where she was raised and later attended San Benito High

School. On January 20, 1962, she married the love of her life, Delbert Doty, with whom she

shared 55 wonderful years of marriage.

Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and sister.

She is survived by her children, Matt Doty, Christine Doty, and Jay Doty; and her sister,

Deanna Pidd (Don).

She leaves behind a large and loving family, including her grandchildren: Wade Doty

(Ambrosia), Jerritt Doty (Jennifer), Beth Magill (Kevin), Chelsea Smith, David Nickols,

Chaylene Nickols (Kermit), Logan Doty (Heather), Alexandria Doty, Joshua Doty, Faith

Doty, and Sam Doty.

Her great-grandchildren are V’leah, Josephine, Samuel, Jameson, KayLeah, Memphis,

Phelix, Jonathon, Brandon, Kaelynn, Madilynn, Ryker, Maverick, Deckard, Wrenn, and

Alina.

She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews from both the Yocham and

Doty families.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Doty; her son, Michael Doty; her

parents, Arvin and Viola Yocham; and her siblings, Kathleen Robinson and Jeanette Whalen,

and their spouses.

Josephine had a creative spirit and found great joy in arts and crafts and collecting dolls.

Christmas was her favorite holiday and a season she filled with warmth and love for her family.

She worked for America’s Greeting Cards and was a familiar, friendly face in many local retail

and grocery stores throughout Hollister.

Josephine will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
