Katherine Mae Intravia passed away peacefully on Saturday January 3, 2026, at home with her family in Hollister, CA, at the age of 96.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 14 at 11:00 am at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 1200 Fairview Rd in Hollister.  Burial will be private at Calvary Cemetery. Immediately following the services, a

celebration of life luncheon will be held at Running Rooster Restaurant, 800 San Benito Street in Hollister.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 13 at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral home beginning at 5:00 pm, with Rosary at 6:00 pm.

Katherine was born on December 12, 1929, in Gilroy California to William and Mary DeMichelis. She attended Gilroy High School where she graduated with the class of 1947.

Katherine worked for the original K&S Market in Hollister back in the early 50’s for several years as a store checker. She also worked for John Costa Dairy in Hollister during the Walnut season for over 20 years. Katherine was also an in- home caregiver for many years locally in Hollister. She was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, Tres Pinos Pedro Club, Sacred Heart Church, and St. Benedict Church.

Katherine loved to bake. She was the baking instructor for Pacheco 4H for many years sharing her best recipes with all her students. That passion for baking continued into her 80’s where she would bake everyone’s favorite desserts for the holidays. Peanut clusters and rocky road were just a couple of her favorites. Fridays were her most favorite day of the week, as that was her bingo day.

Katherine and her husband Phil were regulars at Sacred Heart Church Bingo for many years. She always showed up with a smile on her face win or lose. She absolutely loved her regular road trips to the casinos

with her family. When she could not go to the casino, she would be just as happy at home scratching lottery tickets or playing a game of Pedro.

Katherine is survived by her sons Robert Myers (Hollister,) Mike Intravia (Hollister,) grandchildren Olivia Intravia (Hollister,) Francesca Intravia (Hollister,) and Jordan Intravia (Hollister.) She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and dear friends that she loved as family.

Katherine is preceded in death by her husband Phil Intravia, son Anthony Intravia, daughter Julie Intravia, parents William and Mary DeMichelis, sisters Marie Skov, Virginia Pura, Annabelle Conconi and brother Billy DeMichelis.
