Maryann Dunn Obituary

Maryann Dunn passed away peacefully in her home on November 24, 2025, just shy of her 94th

birthday, joining her beloved husband, Jim, who predeceased her in 2020. Maryann was born in

Indianapolis, Indiana, second child to Casper and Nell Reinhard. Maryann was an avid reader as

a young girl with aspirations to become a librarian and did not pick up reading again until her

later years in full retirement, at which time she voraciously read many books, delighting in

picking them out at Hazel's Thrift store in Hollister.

Maryann was a Hollister resident for 54 years and worked as office manager at Casa de Fruta

for many years until retiring, at which time she and Jim built their Rock Crafters business. They

spent the next 20 years traveling to Arts and Crafts shows as well as Gem and Mineral shows, selling

their artwork. This business brought them much joy and many, many friends. Following

retirement from her second career, Maryann had a wonderful experience working as a

volunteer at Hazel Hawkins Hospital for 10 years.

Maryann was fiercely independent, a loving mother, a confidant to many, and a cheerleader to all.

Smart, witty, sharper than those many years younger, and a great sense of humor. Maryann

created a space for family, friends, and neighbors to stop by and sit for a chat while she enjoyed

the sunshine in her front yard.

Her own words on how she would like to be remembered: “All I ask of you is to forever

remember me as loving you.” She will be so greatly missed.

Maryann is survived by her five children and their spouses: Mike (Rodger), Anne (Curt), Pat

(Gloria), Chris (Tammy), Kathy (David) as well as seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren

and two great-great grandchildren.
