Joseph Marion Miguel Obituary

Joseph Marion Miguel, 92, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was born on July 15, 1933, and was a lifelong resident of Hollister.

Joe attended Sacred Heart Grammar School, Hollister High School, and San Benito Junior College. He also proudly served in the National Guard. He met his wife, Carmen, in high school, and the two married in 1955. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

A devoted Catholic, Joe found joy in serving the Lord, especially by singing in the church choir with his wife, Carmen. He was deeply involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren, coaching baseball and softball over the years. He loved serving in the cafeteria at Sacred Heart School, where all the kids affectionately called him “the ice cream man.”

Joe was a tomato grower with his partner, Larry Martin, for more than 40 years. Joe was also a member of the Elks Lodge. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, traveling with his wife and close friends, and watching sports on TV.

Joe is survived by his wife, Carmen; his children, Joey (Gae), Mike (Mary), and Linda (Tom) Marshall; his grandchildren, Marissa, Mason, Paige, Chace, Brady, and Matthew; and his great-grandchildren, TJ and Charlie. He is also survived by his brothers, Vince, David, and John Miguel, and his sister, Mary. In addition, he leaves behind numerous relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Turner; brother, Frank Sanchez; and sisters, Judy Cronin, Annie Porteur, Ramona Warren, and Marian Hagins.

Joe was dearly loved and respected by the community and was known for his kind heart and wonderful sense of humor. The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to Weng and her caregivers—the “angels” at Angels In-Home Care—for their dedicated and compassionate support.

Immediate family Burial to follow.
