I was sorry to hear of the passing of Kathy - a person I adored & admired.
In the summer of 1983, Kathy invited my best friend (Mary Kelsch - Kathy’s niece) and me to stay with her in her home near Pacheco Pass Highway. We worked at Casa de Fruta at the candy factory and at the weekend barbecues. I have so many memories of that summer - many centered around sharing time with Kathy and her lovely family. Kathy taught me how to laugh at myself & how to enjoy games - no matter if it ended in a win or loss.
May we all be comforted in knowing that Kathy had a long, full life - a good long inning.
With much love,
Myrtle Moose Turnquist

My condolences to you; Wendy, Allene, Joe, Gretchen, and your families. Your mom found joy in you kids. I was one of Allene’s Sacred Heart School classmates at Allene’s junior high birthday sleepover. Somehow the sleepover ended up including a nighttime scavenger hunt. I recall climbing over apricot trays?! The next morning your mother seemed to enjoy hearing about our escapades. At least her laughter was truly heartfelt. May she rest in peace and may God bless you all.

It’s always difficult to loose your mother, you only have one. Kathy was a mother to so many people and to so many good causes. She raised wonderful children who have done great things and she helped me get elected to the U.S. Congress. I miss her beautiful smile, her acts of kindness and support of Justice for All. Hugs to the family. Congressman Sam Farr (Retired).

It has been our family’s privilege to know and experience all that was Kathy. She always had a smile and kind words for me over the 50+ years, and she affectionately referred to our kids as the “Presidents”. On behalf of the Mahan Family I will be planting a tree on our property in Kathy’s memory. Most likely a fruit tree! Love to Kathy in heaven and her wonderful daughter and my best friend Allene.
