Thomas George Christopher Nichols was born August 27, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. Tom passed away peacefully in Hollister, California, June 28, 2025, from complications of Parkinson's Disease.
Tom was the loving husband, for 63 years, of Elizabeth Anne Benson Nichols. He was the father of Andrew (predeceased), Christopher (Christina), Benjamin, and Michael (Sarah). He was the grandfather of six: Kiersten, Zachary, Thomas, Samuel, Dunnavan, and Dylan, and fond uncle to many.
Tom graduated from the State University of New York, Cortland, where he met and married Betty, his soul mate, partner in life and love. Upon graduation they moved to California with baby Andy and began their careers in public education, and Tom earned his Masters Degree from the University of Southern California.
For the next 35 years Tom and family lived in the Creekside neighborhood in Evergreen in San Jose. Tom was a highly respected administrator in the Alum Rock School District. Betty taught in the Evergreen District, upon earning her Masters Degree at San Jose State.
Upon retirement Betty and Tom built their dream home at Ridgemark Golf and Country Club in Hollister. They enjoyed many years of golf and travels with family and friends. They were avid readers and lifelong Giants fans.
Tom was a true gentleman. He was the consummate family man. We hold him in our hearts with deep gratitude and enduring love, for a life well lived.
