Rebecca “Becky” Maureen Orlando, 59, of Hollister, California, passed away on May 8, 2025, in San Jose, CA.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home in Hollister, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1100 Hillcrest Rd.
Born and raised in Hollister, Becky attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from San Benito High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Pacific in Stockton and later studied at USC, Whittier Law School, and Monterey Law School.
Becky had a joyful childhood rooted in tradition, spending summers cutting apricots with family and friends. She was an active member of the Santa Ana 4-H Club and took years of dance lessons in tap and jazz with the Margie Jenks Dance Company. A gifted musician, Becky played the piano, guitar, accordion, and clarinet, and was a proud member of the San Benito High School marching band.
She enjoyed swimming, skiing, and playing basketball during high school. In college, she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, building lasting friendships that she carried through life.
A devoted 49ers fan, Becky loved watching games with her dad—a tradition she held dear.
Becky brought warmth and joy to those around her. Her presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She created memories to cherish during her lifetime with family and friends. She was a fiercely loyal friend and had a strong and unwavering commitment to her friends closest to her.
Becky faced Crohn’s disease with extraordinary strength, grace, and courage. Through every challenge, she remained true to herself—resilient, dignified, and full of life.
Becky was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert “Bob” Louis Orlando and Mary Ann Orlando. She is survived by her wife, Cathy Gomez, of Seaside; her sister, Roberta “Bobbi” (Vincent) Massullo; niece, Gianna Massullo; and nephew, Michael Massullo, all of Hollister. She also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Throughout her life, Becky was devoted to her cherished pets “fur babies” —Heidi, Mindy, Cuddles, Cheddar, Cara, Bella, Pasquale, and Olive—each one a treasured companion.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Beckys name to either the Monterey County SPCA, Animal Friends Rescue Project, or the American Cancer Society.
