Obituary of Geraldine Mary Weatherly

Geraldine Mary (Gerry) Weatherly, 86, of Hollister, CA, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, in Hollister. Gerry was born on July 18, 1938, in Sebastopol, CA, to Fred Carl Lummis and Doris Rose (Brown) Lummis. She graduated from Eureka High School in 1956. Gerry spent over 25 years working as a Quality Control Inspector in the aerospace industry, a career she took great pride in. Outside of work, she had a passion for collecting antiques and cherished the joy of finding hidden treasures. Gerry is lovingly survived by her son, Kenneth Weatherly; daughter-in-law, Brenda Weatherly; and grandchildren, Taylor Weatherly, Miranda (Brandon) Stocks, and Evan Weatherly. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Colleen Lummis; nephews, Eric (Lizzie) Lummis, Patrick Lummis, and Michael Lummis; nieces, Suzanne (Jeff) Fong and Karen Dubowski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Doris Lummis; her brother, Fred Lummis; and her daughter, Cheryle Weatherly. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Clearview Care Home for their attentive support during Gerry’s final year, and to Universal Health Net Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Cheryle Weatherly, Gerry’s beloved daughter, to the Hope Harvest Festival Cancer Fund at the Community Foundation for San Benito County, 440 San Benito Street, Hollister, CA 95023.
