It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernesto A. Pascual, Sr. who peacefully left us on March 15, 2025. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He was 89 years old
Viewing will be held on March 26, 2025, at Grunnagle Funeral Home, 870 San Benito Street Hollister, CA from 3:00PM to 7:00PM with Rosary starting at 5:30PM.
A funeral service will be held on March 27, 2025, 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos, CA, Fr. Heibar officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1100 Hillcrest Rd. Hollister, CA.
Ernesto Abian Pascual, Sr. was born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Eulalio Bareng Pascual and Maria Abian Pascual on September 18th, 1935. He attended Ilocos Norte National High School and went on to earn a degree, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from UP Los Baños in the Philippines. After graduation, he worked for the government in the Philippines. He immigrated to the United States in 1970 and settled in Hollister, CA where he worked several jobs before his long career with Gilroy Foods Co. for 45 years. He loved to play mahjong, as well as playing cards and watching his favorite boxer Manny Pacquaio. He was past president of the Filipino American Community club of San Benito County.
Ernesto Sr. is survived by his children Ferdinand Pascual, Rowena Glasspool, Lisa Teofilo, Ernesto Pascual, Jr., Debbie Camacho of Hollister, CA, Richard Pascual of Kona, Hawaii, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his siblings in the Philippines, daughters in law, Angel Batoon Pascual and Josie Jimenez Galindo Pascual, son in law Walter Glasspool and adopted son Ricardo Padilla. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Carmelita Rubio Pascual.
