Obituary of Sarah Leigh McFall

Sarah Leigh McFall passed on February 22, 2025, aged 56. Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, Sarah later relocated with her mother to Scotland, where she was raised closely alongside younger sister, Alison, and cherished extended family. After completing high school, Sarah found her calling in the hospitality industry, a passion she later transformed into a career in food and wine. Sarah ultimately became the proud owner of Thyme Catering, championing sustainable, farm-to-table, seasonally inspired, and allergen-aware cuisine. In 1989, Sarah met and married Shaun, and together they built a life filled with love and adventure, raising their three children. Their journey brought them to California, where they made their home for almost 30 years. Sharp-witted, kind, and fiercely compassionate, Sarah had a way of making everyone feel like family. Sarah welcomed the friends of her children into her life as if they were her own and extended that same generosity to animals, always willing to foster and find homes for those in need. Sarah was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda, and her son, Ryan, who were laid to rest together in Scotland. She is survived by devoted husband, Shaun, sons Gareth and Scott, son-in-law David, her sister Alison, and close relatives in the UK. Sarah passed away nine years after her initial cancer diagnosis. Her bravery, strength, humor, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed and forever remembered. There will be no public funeral service.
