Obituary of Loretta Lee Kayser

In Loving Memory of Loretta Lee Kayser 12 SEP 1941 – 30 JAN 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Loretta Lee Kayser. A loving spouse, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she shared kindness and wisdom with all who knew her. Born in Adrian Michigan on September 12, 1941, to Ellie and James Fridd. She grew up with her siblings, Cheryl, Douglas, Bruce, Michelle, and Phillip. She graduated in the inaugural class attending the new Hudson Area High School in 1959. Her senior year, she was on the Student Council, was a cheerleader, was selected for the Queen’s Court, was a member of the Slide Rule Club the Yearbook Team, FTA and was the Co-Chairwoman of her graduating class. Soon after high school, she married Truman Ames, then went on to work at Michigan State University supporting many Ph. D’s in the engineering department. After a job change brought her to California in 1972, she held numerous positions of responsibility and was known for her intelligence, integrity, vision, and commitment to excellence. While she worked for Honeywell as an executive secretary, her manager introduced her to her future husband Charles Kayser, and they were married in 1976. As her career progressed, because of her exemplary work ethic, she was promoted to a management position with Honeywell and her responsibilities included managing a 500,000 sq. ft. building in Northern Virginia. She then went on to manage three properties in the mid-Atlantic area. Later, she joined a real estate company called Space Center, which owned and leased the business park which included the Honeywell buildings. She was a Vice President of Space Center for several years and left after the sale of the buildings. In 2005 Loretta returned to Corona Del Mar, California to help guide her granddaughters Megan and Emily through their early and teen years after losing her daughter-in-law Lorraine to cancer. Later, she rejoined her loving husband Chuck in the Hollister area, where they lived until her passing. She was a loving mother to Steven and Michael Ames, and stepmother to Cheryl, Larry, and Julie. She was a loving grandmother to Samantha, Alex, Matthew, Megan, Emily, Ryan, Hayley, Melanie, Audrey, Jack, Blake, Leo, and Mack. Also, she was great-grandmother to Emery, Annabelle, Kailee, Addison, Delaney, Liam, Neve, Arlynn, Ella, and Elizabeth. She dedicated her life to her family, ensuring that each one of them felt loved, supported, and valued. Loretta had many talents, she was an avid reader who loved her book club, a great artist, loved to teach and play games. She was an outstanding cook, with a love for unique and exotic menus, and enjoyed planning dinners with friends and helping with the many events at the Cannery Club @ Twin Oaks. Loretta was truly loved by all. Whether it was through her acts of kindness, her nurturing spirit, or the wisdom she so freely shared, she left a mark on every heart she touched. Her legacy of love and compassion continues to live on through those she leaves behind. Loretta’s love and light will forever shine in our hearts.
