Richard J. Velasco unexpectedly yet peacefully passed surrounded by his family. He was 87.

He is preceded by his wife, Alice G. Velasco and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Elaine (Patrick) Ferriera, Albert, Joseph (Eileen) and Michelle Velasco, along with grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Services will be Friday, July 19, San Juan Bautista Mission at 11:00 am for the rosary and mass followed by a military internment at the San Juan District cemetery and a reception at the VFW.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Bonita Springs Hospice Care, Gilroy, c/o Grunnagles.
