Herman James Perrotta Obituary

On Sunday, January 29, 2023, Herman “Bud” Perrotta, loving husband, father, and brother passed away at the age of 81.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on November 28, 1941, Bud was educated by the Marist Brothers at Central Catholic High School. Despite the Catholic influence, his mom, Emily, was always aware of Bud’s fun and shenanigans that may not have always aligned with those rules and ethos. Many fond memories of his loved ones are when he shared the funny stories of the great times and adventures, he got into as a child with his cousins, especially Dennis. At the age of 17, he traveled from Massachusetts across the USA to California with his parents and younger sister Emily, to be closer to his eldest sister, Eleanore, and husband Bob, and his mother’s sister, Mae and husband Fred.

Bud’s new life incorporated his passion for cars. He was also passionate about Marilyn Holt. They eventually married on August 28, 1966. They loved the outdoors and often went camping and enjoying the opportunities to go off-roading in their 4x4 or dune buggy.

In July 1973, Bud and Marilyn welcomed their daughter, Heather. Family time was important to him, and while they continued the many camping trips, the Sunday dinners at his mom’s house with the entire family, was an important part of his life. There was always plenty of food and great conversations. He always made sure family came first and always enjoyed spending time surrounded by family and friends, including new friends from overseas. Many of whom considered him a father figure.

In 2021, he was excited to find out that his family was bigger than he had realized when he learned he had a daughter and granddaughter from a previous relationship from 1962. While they were still taking time to grow the relationship, he was happy and grateful for the opportunity to meet and know them.

Bud took after his father and had a strong work ethic and loved working with his hands. As a young adult, he launched his career in precision metal-working that evolved into operating his own business and managing the machining/fabrication department for a semi-conductor equipment company. He felt fortunate to be someone who loved his job, but it was his family that brought him his greatest joy and pride.

Bud was preceded in death by his father, Herman, and his mother, Emily. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, daughter Heather and son-in-law Steve Armada, two sisters Eleanore Hallsworth and Emily Perrotta, niece LA, and grandnieces Margaux, Maxime, and Alyssa, along with numerous nieces and nephews in the Midwest, cousins and long-time friends.

Bud will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, relative and wonderful friend. He will be dearly missed. However, his family finds comfort in the many treasured memories he leaves behind.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Lucy’s Church, 2350 Winchester Blvd. Campbell, CA. on February 24, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
