Obituary of Richard George Del Curto

Richard George Del Curto passed away on November 26, 2017 at the age of 79.

Richard was born December 22, 1937 to Reno and Georgia Del Curto of Valley Ford, Ca. Richard attended Tamales High School where he was active in 4H and this was the beginning of his interest in livestock. Richard completed his last year of high school as a Hollister Hay Baler where he was on the track team and involved in FFA. Richard completed basic training in the Army at Fort Ord.

Richard worked with his father, Reno, and his uncles on a ranch where the family raised cattle, sheep and processed meat. The Del Curto family moved to Hollister in 1954 and opened their business, Del Curto Meat Company. Richard worked in the family business as a livestock buyer.

Richard married Mafalda “Muffy” Amelio and was blessed with three sons: Andre’, Derek and Darin.
Richard’s hobbies included custom cars, boating, skiing, football, rodeos and cooking.

He is survived by his three sons, 14 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

There will be a Rosary and Funeral Mass on December 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tres Pinos, CA. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister, CA. Memorial donations in memory of Richard may be made to Catholic Charities of the Monterey Diocese c/o the mortuary.
