Shirley Faye Wolfe of Hollister, CA died on August 20, 2017. She was born Shirley Faye Thompson in Oolitic, Indiana to GertieThompson (Nicholas) and Floyd William Thompson.

Surviving is her son Jeffrey Wolfe and her sisters Maxine Woodward and Wilma Fields. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years of marriage Donald Wolfe, her parents Floyd and Gertie Thompson, her brother Raymond Thompson and her sisters Irene Fulkerson, Opal Hooker, Dorothy Roll, Anna Hall and Betty Miller.

Shirley had been active in the Federated Women’s Club when she and Don lived in San Jose, CA. For many years in the San Jose area, she was Smokey the Bear, speaking at school and civic events about fire safety. During parades, she would often be seen riding on the back of fire trucks.

Shirley loved to sew, crochet and do needlework in addition to various arts and crafts projects.

Shirley’s warm smile and loving heart will truly be missed.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito Street, Hollister; Reverend Mike Hogg presiding.
Burial will be private.
