Juana Galvan Hernandez passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, on April 10, 2016, at the age of 82 years old. She was a Hollister resident for over 60 years. She was married to Pedro Hernandez and they had 4 children together. In addition to being a full time homemaker, she also worked as a seasonal cannery worker at Tri-Valley Growers in Hollister. Juana was an active member of the Local #890 of the Teamsters union. Juana had a very strong faith in God. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. As well as gardening and taking long car rides out on the country roads. She had very special bond with her sister, Olivia and would love to visit with her friends and family with a good cup of coffee. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Pedro Hernandez. Her children: Alicia Hernandez, Silvia Hernandez, Arturo (Mercedez) Hernandez and Carmen Hernandez-Murray (Scott Murray). Her grandchildren; Victoria and Vanessa Hernandez and Ty, Isabella, and Siena Murray. Her family would like to thank Dr. Klapper, Dr. Jiang and visiting Nurses of the VNA Monterey Hospice and staff for the excellent care they provided to Juana. Visitation will be on Monday, April 18th, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Memorial Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday morning, family and friends will leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. for burial at IOOF Cemetery.
