Obituary of Cristina Duran Guttirez

Cristina Duran Guttirez passed away at her Hollister residence with her loving family by her side, on September 30th, 2016, at the age of 67. Cristina was born and raised in Hollister where she met her high school sweetheart ArnoldGuttirez. The two were married on June 24, 1972. Together they have two sons, Eddie (Diane Garcia) Guttirez and Paul (Veronica) Guttirez. She was a loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren Isaiah, Little Eddie, Christopher, Anthony, Maylani, Kalvin, Kaleb, Hailey, Ella, and one great grandchild Isaac. Cristina is survived by her mother Emilia Duran of Hollister. She has 7 sisters, Teri, Pauline, Rosemary, Margie, Millie, Elsa, Lina, and one brother Sal. She is preceded in death by her brother Louis Duran and her father Salvador Duran. She graduated from San Benito High and attended Gavilan College. She worked for Tri-Valley as well as Community Solutions. Some of Cristina's hobbies included reading novels, gardening, doing puzzles, and coloring. She enjoyed going to her grandson's baseball games, watching movies, and loved music. One of her favorite things to do every year was to go to San Francisco for New Years. Cristina's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed very much by her family and friends. She will hold a special place in all of our hearts. We look forward to being reunited with her again. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6th at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, October 7th, 2016, a Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will follow. A post-funeral reception will take place following the burial from 1:30-3:30pm at Lighthouse Apostolic Church 1515 Santa Ana Rd. Hollister, CA.
